Role: Studio Technician/Producer What have you learnt from today’s activity?

Today I have learnt how to communicate and meet the needs of a band and health and safety requirements in a recording studio scenario and I can understand what works and what doesn't when it comes to preparing a recording studio for use and recording a live band.

What impact did your actions have upon the team/s? Positive or otherwise.

The live room was already set up when we had come into the lesson however there were wires all over the floor which could be a health and safety hazard for someone to trip over and they also aren't made for or are particularly comfortable to walk on, so I tidied the cables up by grouping them together like a snake cable would be and then tucked it under the carpet mat so there was less risk of someone tripping over.

Would you consider pursuing a University course or employment in the role you undertook?

It was a good experience but I wouldn't want to do that sort of thing as a full time job because my interests in lie in other areas of the music industry or in different professions.
