I have had a similar experience of this background from being a promoter and live sound tech/load in assistant/ live sound assistant, with this experience I could follow this career pathway with a local venue and progress from there.

Tour managers responsibilities include promoting and selling tour plans to bands and then informing the band and crew about the travel arrangements and stopover points, making sure accommodation, meals and service are satisfactory, planning day to day activities for paid days of work and knowing what the band members are doing on the non paid "days off", motivating and disciplining band members and crew, helping with passport and immigration issues, recording issues that may require follow-up after the tour and solving problems throughout the tour in liaison with the appropriate crew member and dealing with emergencies like loss of passports or money, illness or difficulties with accommodation.
