What were your aims for your rehearsals/studio time this week? Did you complete them? Why is setting aims important?
I aimed to make progress with songwriting and recording and did complete the aims that I had set, setting aims can be useful in defining a purpose for the rehearsal and will give an indication of when the rehearsal session has been completed.
What elements went well during this week's rehearsal/studio sessions and how did it boost your progression?
I was partially successful in this by creating a drum track which will help me progress as I can then use the drum track to re record the guitar parts and add further instrumentation.
What have you enjoyed about your rehearsal/studio sessions over the week? Why is this? Why is important that you are enjoying what you are doing?
I haven't enjoyed any of this, I haven't been able to construct a good quality recording or remix another bands song, It is important to enjoy what is happening because otherwise it can effect someone's health and it can mean that deadlines are missed and work produced isn't of the full potential that it could be.
What aspects didn't go so well throughout your rehearsals/studio time and how did this hinder your progression?
I have been behind with songwriting and recording and have been struggling with timekeeping and recording a good quality take of guitar, I think working in a room by myself probably isn't helping and often there will be a problem with the computer which would delay progress from being made.
Come up with a rehearsal/studio technique (e.g. turn the lights off, run through, setting the pod up like a stage, get an outsider to evaluate your songs/recording, etc.) that you would like to use within your pod session today? Explain how you think it will help with your progression?
I will try breaking the song into sections instead of trying to record the whole thing in one go, this will help the progression of the project because I can then focus on each section of the song and will hopefully be less likely to fall out of time or make mistakes in the later sections of the song.
As individual what can you go away and work on over the weekend that will help with your own personal progression and the progression of your set list/EP/Album?
I can practice more in my free time which will acclimatise myself to playing and will then find recording takes of guitar easier.
What aims do you have for your rehearsals/studio session next week and how do you plan on achieving them?
I aim to record a final take of guitar and in my own time find a set of lead techniques to fit into the song.
